<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an iron golf club head capable of providing a high trajectory without opening a face, having a superior low-drag property and reducing miss shots. <P>SOLUTION: This iron golf club head 2 is provided with a face, a back face and a sole surface. The sole surface 8 has a first sole surface 20 disposed in a front part and a second sole surface 22 disposed in a back part. The first sole surface 20 has a positive sole angleθ1 in a central reference position (fc). The second sole surface 20 has a negative sole angleθ2 in the central reference position (fc). The sole angleθ1c(°) in the central reference position (fc) is not less than 20°and not more than 40°.
