<p>The subject matter disclosed herein provides methods and apparatus for closed loop operation of a wireless system implementing multiple input multiple output (MIMO). In one aspect, there is provided a method. The method may include determining, at a client station, a plurality of singular vectors for channels used in a multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) transmission from a base station to a client station. Moreover, the client station may provide a first indication to the base station to use a singular value decomposition, when one of the singular vectors is substantially larger than the other singular vectors. Furthermore, the base station may provide a second indication to the base station to use a uniform channel decomposition, when one of the singular vectors is not substantially larger than the other singular vectors.
