The bracket has two bracket elements which are designed to arrange a braking friction between surfaces by a unit. An elastic body (14) of one of the bracket elements is involved in the friction, and a movement takes place along a surface of the bracket during braking. The surface is diagonal to the direction of the retarded movement. An independent claim is also included for a sliding door system with a sliding door element.
