PURPOSE: A method and apparatus for logging and setting measurement environment in a wireless communication system are provided to maintain environment setting of a mobile device and to set the measurement environment in a wireless communication system. CONSTITUTION: A system receives a message from a network to specify performance measurement environment about a mobile device(702). The mobile device enters an idle mode(704). The mobile device collects network performance data by received measurement environment setup(706). The mobile device opens new connection of a cellular network(708). The mobile device reports logging data to the cellular network(710).
