PURPOSE: A vacuum valve is provided to help a user to make a system big or small by improving the withstand voltage characteristic between a conducting shaft and an arc shield. CONSTITUTION: A pair of contact points(6,7) is accommodated within a vacuum insulating container(1). A conducting shaft(4,8) is fixed to a contact point. An arc shield(11) surrounds the contact point. Metal films(5,9,12) are installed in the outside of the conducting shaft and the inside of the arc shield. The metal film is formed with a material having high melting point.
