PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrolyte composition practically nonvolatile and having high charge transport performance, an electrochemical battery containing the electrolyte composition and having high durability and high ionic conductivity, a photo-electrochemical battery having high durability and high photoelectric conversion characteristics, a nonaqueous secondary battery having low capacity deterioration and high cycle characteristics, and a new liquid crystal compound having high charge transport performance without decreasing mechanical strength. SOLUTION: The electrolyte composition is composed of a salt having an anionic portion and a cationic portion, and containing an atomic group comprising a repeating unit represented by general formula (I) in at least one of the anionic portion and the cationic portion, the electrochemical battery, the photo- electrochemical battery, and the nonaqueous secondary battery use the electrolyte composition, and the liquid crystal compound is represented by general formulas (IV-a), (IV-b) or (IV-c). |
