Super-RENS optical recording medium

A super-RENS optical recording medium (1) with a mask layer (17) with reduced susceptibility to degradation is proposed. The super-RENS optical recording medium (1) has a first magneto-optical layer (17) as a mask layer (12). The super-RENS optical recording medium (1) further has a second magneto-optical layer (16) located below the first magneto-optical layer (17) in a reading direction. A method and an apparatus for reading from such a super-RENS optical recording medium (1) are also described.
