The device has a chamber (20a) heated by a heating body (26) for provision of a boiling process. An inlet opening (18) is provided for water, and an outlet opening (19) is provided for steam. Another chamber (20b) is provided downstream to the former chamber for heating and/or maintaining temperature of the steam. The inlet opening is provided with a nozzle (24) of silicon material for atomizing water flowing into the device. The nozzle is made of elastic, heat-resistant material. A cross section of an opening of the nozzle is changed by the water flowing through the nozzle. An independent claim is also included for a laundry treatment machine comprising a steam generation device and a container.
