HIGH STATIC FATIGUE ALUMINA ISOPIPES

PURPOSE: The alumina isopipes of high static fatigue is provided to replace existing zircon isopipes used for manufacturing a glass sheet in a fusion process by using alumina materials of high static fatigue. CONSTITUTION: The alumina isopipes of high static fatigue includes a body which is adequate to a fusion process. The body at least includes 90 volume% of Al_2O_3 crystal and an alumina refractory material. The alumina refractory material includes at least one hour static fatigue based on time to failure point of view when a test is implemented under the applied stress of 10,000 psi at 1200 degrees Celsius. The mean creep rate of the alumina refractory material under 1000psi at 1180 degrees Celsius is lower than 2.5^-7/hour and/or the mean creep rate under 1000psi at 1250 degrees Celsius is lower than 1.0^-6/hour. The alumina refractory material includes a glass phase.
