<p>381,555. Wireless receiving apparatus. TOMLINSON, A. V., 65, Victoria Street, London.-(Union Switch & Signal Co. ; Swissvale, Pennsylvania, U.S.A.) June 26, 1931, No. 18582. [Class 40 (v).] A number of superposed detectors of the dry surface contact type are wholly or partly enclosed in a block of material. The detectors preferably comprise copper discs 10, Fig. 6, coated on one side 11 with cuprous oxide in contact with lead washers 12, a layer of graphite connecting the washer 12 with the cuprous oxide. The superposed detectors fit into channels 4, Fig. 2, cut in a cylindrical block 1 of material such as that known under the Registered Trade Mark " Bakelite," and are held in position by springs 14 and washers 13 making electrical contact with an endplate 15 and the pin 18. The pin 21 is connected to the endplate 19 in contact with the other end of the column of detectors. Other pins may be provided suitably connected to one or other of the columns.
