PURPOSE: A semiconductor memory device and an operation method thereof are provided to improve the reliability of data randomization by generating random data even for a column which is not appointed from a host. CONSTITUTION: A memory cell array includes a plurality of memory cells. Circuits receive program data from the outside. The circuits output a random signal. A page buffer stores data in the memory cells. Data is obtained from the logical combination of the program data and the random signal. An input-output circuit and a column selection circuit receive program data. The input-output circuit and the column select circuit transfer the program data to the page buffer. A random signal generation circuit outputs a random signal. A control circuit outputs control signals. A first page buffer(PB1) includes a pre-charge circuit(210) and a sensing circuit(220). The first page buffer comprises latches(LAT1,LAT2,LAT3), set/reset circuits(230,240,250), and transmission circuits(260,270,280). |
