#CMT# #/CMT# The pedal (1) has a maintaining unit (9) rotationally mounted around an articulation axle (A) parallel to that of the pedal, and applied against a cleat (6) by an elastic return unit for ensuring coupling of the cleat to the pedal. The return unit has a flexure element (B), whose one end is housed in a body (2) of the pedal, where another end of the flexure element is supported against the maintaining unit. A cover (19) has two holes parallely spaced at an axle (3) of the pedal. The cover has a transversal slot traversed by a flexure plate (18) of the flexure element and a spring plate (36). #CMT#USE : #/CMT# Automatic locking and unlocking bicycle pedal for use by a cyclist for a practice e.g. road race, mountain bicycling and bicycle touring. #CMT#ADVANTAGE : #/CMT# The elastic return unit has the flexure element, whose one end is housed in the body of the pedal and another end is supported against the maintaining unit, thus reducing the weight of the pedal.
