The case has a retaining ring (17) for axially retaining a rotating bezel (2) on a middle (1). The bezel, the ring and an indexing unit define unstable angular positions of the bezel on the middle such that the bezel is displaced with respect to the ring till the bezel is brought back to a disassembling position, by a sequence of axial movement in direction of a case bottom and rotary movement, only when the bezel is blocked on one of the unstable positions. The bezel is released axially from the retaining unit for being removed from the middle, in the disassembling position. The indexing unit is formed of a toothed ring (12), radial indexing pins (11), teeth (13) and a corrugated lock washer (14). An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is also included for a method for disassembling a rotating bezel from a watch case.
