The dampener (300) has a plate arranged between an internal support surface (110a) and an external support surface (210a) of a rotor. The plate is folded so as to form two plate portions (304a, 304b) inclined with respect to each other. A free end (306) of one plate portion (304a) is in radial support against the internal support surface. A connection zone (302) is provided between the two plate portions, and provides support against the external support surface under effect of centrifugal rotation force of the rotor in way to ensure an axial sealing against gases. An independent claim is also included for an element of a rotor of a gas turbine engine.
