PURPOSE: A vibration absorbing device for a structure installed in a nuclear power plant or a general building in an earthquake is provided to protect pipes and lighting units installed in a building from horizontal and vertical vibration. CONSTITUTION: A vibration absorbing device for a structure installed in a nuclear power plant or a general building in an earthquake comprises a fixture(1), first, second, and third vibration absorbing unit, a vertical vibration absorbing unit, a fourth vibration absorbing unit, and a fixing plate(9). The fixture is fixed to the ceiling of a structure and has a connection unit(2) and a fastening hole. The first vibration absorbing unit is connected to the connection unit of the fixtures. The second vibration absorbing unit is connected to the bottom end of the first vibration absorbing unit. The third vibration absorbing unit is connected to the bottom end of the second vibration absorbing unit. The first, second, and third vibration absorbing units absorb vertical and horizontal vibration. The vertical vibration absorbing unit is connected to the third vibration absorbing unit and absorbs vertical vibration through a spring(7). The fourth vibration absorbing unit is connected to the bottom end of the vertical vibration absorbing unit and absorbs vibration through a chain(8). The fixing plate has a connection ring(10) and a wire.
