The method involves introducing a mixture to be separated into a separation container (4) via an inlet channel (2), and separating a solid and/or a liquid phase by a gas phase. The solid and/or liquid phase is compressed at walls of the separation container by centrifugal force and removed at a lower end of the separation container. The gas phase is removed from a cyclone by a dip tube (5), and a particle and/or droplet-free gas stream is produced and circulated in a close proximity under a cylinder cover (3) of a cyclone (1). A rotatable pane is provided under the cylinder cover. An independent claim is also included for a cyclone comprising a nozzle.
