<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus and a display method, whereby usability for focusing is improved in manual focus operation. <P>SOLUTION: A determination is made whether manual focus mode (MF mode) has been set or not (S53). If determined as the MF mode, a determination is made whether a distance ring has been manually operated or not (S59). If the distance ring is operated, a display enlarging magnification is set based on contrast information and lens information (S61 to S65).
