<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To adjust a density at an optimum ratio, in density adjustment using a detection result at the last time and a detection result at this time by a density sensor. <P>SOLUTION: The number of prints for all kinds of papers including the corresponding kind of paper is counted by a counter for the corresponding kind of paper from when printing for the corresponding kind of paper is started, in each kind of paper and when the value of the counter for the corresponding kind of paper is an adjustment interval or more in printing for the paper of the corresponding kind, a gradation pattern image is printed on the paper of a kind of paper to be used (step S11), the density of each patch in an image is detected (step S12), a weighting ratio corresponding to the kind of paper to be used is obtained (step S13), to calculate a weighted average between the density detection result at the last time and the density detection result at this time at the weighting ratio and adjust the density for the kind of paper to be used, based on the calculation result (step S14), and the counter for the kind of paper to be used is initialized (step S15). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
