The present invention provides a binder for a secondary battery, comprising polymer particles which are formed by polymerizing three or more types of monomers and have the average diameter of 0.3-0.7 µm. The binder has excellent adhesive force to a current collector of an electrode and supports an active material to basically improve the safety of an electrode, thereby enhancing the cycle characteristics of a secondary battery.
