PURPOSE: A signal conversion apparatus is provided to output an optical signal through an optical line by changing the optical signal into a serial signal by using an external ambient sensor. CONSTITUTION: A serial signal detecting unit(440) detects a serial signal by using a data detecting unit. The serial signal detecting unit automatically controls a serial transmission method. A serial-ethernet signal converting unit(450) changes the serial signal inputted by the serial signal detecting unit into an ethernet signal. The serial-ethernet signal conversion unit changes the serial signal into the ethernet signal. An ethernet-optical signal conversion unit(460) changes an ethernet signal into the optical signal inputted by the optical line. The ethernet-optical signal conversion unit changes the ethernet signal inputted by the serial-ethernet signal conversion unit into the optical signal.
