<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a machine room-less type observation elevator which does not spoil a fine sight for a landscape when installing a controller in an elevating path. <P>SOLUTION: The machine room-less type observation elevator has a landscape window 14 in a car 11 and has a thin controller 20 for controlling the operation of the car 11, which is installed on a pit 10a in the elevating path 10.
