<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus which can improve the circulation of a heating gas in a biomass filled movement layer in a carbonization oven to carbonize the biomass in a high yield, and to provide a method. <P>SOLUTION: The biomass carbonization apparatus 10 which includes a vertical carbonization oven 11 filled with the biomass, a biomass supply device 12 connected to the upper portion of the carbonization oven 11, and a high temperature gas supply device 11E connected to the lower portion of the carbonization oven 11, and is used for supplying the biomass from the biomass supply device 12 to form a biomass-filled movement layer dropping in the carbonization oven 11, and supplying a high temperature gas from the high temperature gas supply device 11E into the carbonization oven 11 to contact the high temperature gas with the biomass, thereby thermally decomposing the biomass to produce a carbonization product, is characterized by disposing a large mass supply device 13 for supplying larger masses than the biomass into the carbonization oven above the carbonization oven 11 to enable the dispersion of the large masses in the biomass-filled movement layer in the carbonization oven. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
