IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS, METHOD OF CONFIDENTIAL PRINTING, AND CONFIDENTIAL PRINTING PROGRAM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a time period from restoration of this image forming apparatus from a power saving mode to formation of an image of confidential print data.

SOLUTION: The MFP includes: a RAM; an HDD of which the activation time period is longer than that of an image forming section; a switcher for switching an operation mode; a power controller that supplies power to the HDD and the image forming section in a normal mode and does not supply power to the HDD and the image forming section in the power saving mode; a confidential print reception section that receives confidential print data and stores the data in the HDD; a transfer section that allows the HDD to be supplied with power and transfers the confidential print data stored in the HDD to the RAM (S22) when the operation mode is switched to the power saving mode (YES in S21); and a confidential printing section that causes the image forming section to form the image of the confidential print data under the condition that authentication based on the confidential print data stored in the RAM is succeeded when the operation mode is switched to the normal mode.
