<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress design quality being impaired by incident light on a protection plate even when a blue plate glass is used for the protection plate. <P>SOLUTION: A display device includes a protection plate 3 arranged so as to face a display panel 2 and, on the surface 3a of the protection plate 3 facing the display panel 2, a screening film 13 is formed so as to surround a display area 4 of the display panel 2.
