<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical transmitter capable of directly grasping and adjusting an optical modulation factor, optimally adjusting the optical modulation factor according to a wave number, or optimally adjusting the optical modulation factor according to a frequency band or modulation system. <P>SOLUTION: The optical transmitter 1 includes: an LD 16 for converting an electric signal into an optical signal; a detector 24 that outputs a detected value according to the level of an electric signal in any of the states from an input into the optical transmitter 1 to an input into the LD 16; and a transmission control part 30 that calculates an optical modulation factor in the LD 16 based on a value detected by the detector 24 and implements predetermined control for adjusting the optical modulation factor in the LD 16 based on the calculated optical modulation factor. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
