<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To minimize a delay of a boot time occurring when something is wrong with either of disks in a disk control system having a boot-side disk 3a and a standby-side disk 3b as mirror disks. <P>SOLUTION: This disk control system includes verification means 31 performing a verification process with respect to a boot-side disk 3a and a standby-side disk 3b at a spare time without any access to acquire a verification time required for the verification, and storing the verification time in a table 31a.
