PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain a high capacity in a lithium secondary battery while maintaining good cycle characteristics.

SOLUTION: The positive electrode of a lithium secondary battery comprises a positive electrode collector composed of a conductive substance, and a positive electrode active material layer consisting of a sintered plate body of lithium composite oxide. The positive electrode active material layer and the positive electrode collector are bonded with a conductive bonding layer interposed therebetween. The positive electrode active material layer has a thickness of 30 μm or more, an average pore diameter of 0.1-5 μm, and a void ratio of 3% or more and less than 15%.
