<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a PON system, a slave station side device thereof and a data transmission method of low power consumption while performing fast rising and falling of a laser. <P>SOLUTION: A slave station side device comprises: a semiconductor laser for converting transmission data to an optical signal to output the optical signal; a laser driving unit for controlling the luminescence/non-luminescence of the semiconductor laser; a GATE analysis unit for extracting transmission timing information from a GATE signal received from a master station side device; a prewarming signal output unit for outputting a prewarming signal at transmission timing or before the transmission timing based on the transmission timing information; and a current source control unit for controlling the ON/OFF of a current source based on the prewarming signal. The current source control unit turns the current source ON based on the prewarming signal, the laser driving unit controls the luminescence/non-luminescence of the semiconductor laser based on the transmission data, and the semiconductor laser converts the transmission data to the optical signal based on the control of the laser driving unit to output the optical signal to the master station side device. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
