USE OF PARASITIC BIOLOGICAL AGENT FOR DISEASE PREVENTION AND CONTROL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of screening a helminthic parasite preparation that affects a regulatory T cell function; and to provide a method of treating a disease by altering a regulatory T cell activity through the administration of a parasite preparation.

SOLUTION: The method includes the following steps, (a) a step for obtaining a helminthic parasite preparation; (b) a step for contacting the helminthic parasite preparation with a target; and (c) a method for measuring the level of a transcription factor, as an internal marker, in the target after the contacting, and a cell surface marker or a secretion marker for regulatory T cell, wherein a change in the level of the cell surface marker after the contacting is indicative of the helminthic parasite preparation altering a regulatory T cell activity.
