<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a monitoring sensor that can distinguish dew drops having stuck to the surface of a monitoring window from any shielding matter that has emerged in a monitoring area after the monitoring area was set. <P>SOLUTION: A monitoring sensor 2 includes: a detecting unit 21 that, by scanning via a monitoring window 26 search signals from one end to the other of a monitoring area and receiving search signals reflected by an object present in the monitoring area, generates distance measurement data that associate a plurality of scanning directions with distances to object respectively corresponding to the plurality of scanning directions; a labeling unit 242 that extracts scanning directions corresponding to distances to the vicinities of the monitoring window from the distance measurement data and, out of the extracted scanning directions, labels consecutive scanning directions as one candidate group of dew drops; and a disturbance judging unit 243 that, when the number of candidate groups of dew drops is equal to or greater than a prescribed number that is two or greater, judges that dew drops are stuck to the monitoring window or, when the number of candidate groups of dew drops is less than the prescribed number, judges that no dew drops are stuck to the monitoring window. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
