The invention relates to a fluid sealing device for rotating machines having a rotor part including at least one disk (13) carried by a rotating shaft (15) rotating in and relatively to a stator part in the presence of a fluid and wherein the rotating shaft is provided with at least one sealing system (15a, 15b) defining a first environment (A) at a first pressure the stator part has a wall (17) in front of the disk (13) of the stator part defining a second environment (B) therewith containing a fluid at a second pressure. The device comprises a movable ring (30) placed between the wall (17) of the stator part and the disk (13) of the rotor part and provided with at least a front sealing gasket (37) facing towards said disk (13). The ring is axially movable between an inactive position, in which the front sealing gasket (37) is far from said disk, and an active position, in which said front sealing gasket (37) rests on said disk, the movable ring being moved in the active position when the rotating machine is stopped to prevent the fluid passage from one of said environment (A, B) to the other environment.
