<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent occurrence of abnormal images such as an color shift due to voltage fluctuation during image forming operation. <P>SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus starts supply of electric power from an auxiliary power source (S42) when receiving an instruction of electric power supply start from the auxiliary power source (S41), and switches a power supply source to a prescribed load from a main power source to the auxiliary power source (S43). The image forming apparatus monitors whether it reaches a switching condition of an auxiliary power source device during power supply from the auxiliary power source (S44), and determines whether a system is during image making processing (S45) when it reaches the switching condition. The image forming apparatus interrupts the image forming operation (S46) when it is under image forming processing, and switches the power supply source from the auxiliary power source to the main power source (S47).
