The method involves charging and discharging of an energy store controlled in such a way that current state of charge is operated between lower charge state and upper charge state. The lower and/or current charge state of the energy store is controlled dependent of currently measured or averaged temperature on a current datum and/or time of day. Driven route distances and/or started target positions are stored for travel according to which the vehicle stands for a predefined minimal time. An independent claim is also included for a control device comprising a control unit.
