<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light control device and a projector capable of sufficiently reducing a quantity of passing light in a maximum light-shielding state while gradually smoothing the change in a quantity of passing light due to the space-saving structure. <P>SOLUTION: A light control device 10 for adjusting a quantity of passing light by light-shielding a part of an incident luminous flux comprises a pair of rotation members 15a and 15b having rotation axes 17ax and 17bx along a direction almost orthogonal to an illumination light axis OC and a pair of light-shielding members 20a and 20b which are held by the rotation members 15a and 15b and change the size of the light shielding region for light-shielding the luminous flux depending on the rotation of the rotation members 15a and 15b. The rotation axes 17ax and 17bx of the rotation members 15a and 15b are arranged at a position overlapping with a region TA where the luminous flux passes and the light-shielding members 20a and 20b are arranged at a position not overlapping with the rotation axes 17ax and 17bx. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
