<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light-weight and low-cost liquid crystal display device having high luminance and high luminance evenness. <P>SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display device includes a light source, a liquid crystal panel, and an optical device provided between the light source and the liquid crystal panel; the optical device includes a laminated body consisting of a transparent layer facing the light source side, and a diffusion layer located towards the liquid crystal panel side with respect to the transparent layer; and the optical device further includes a plurality of light-shielding layers which are located inside the transparent layer and the like and have different distances from the light source in the normal line direction of the optical device main surface. Each of the plurality of light-shielding layers has openings, and the plurality of light-shielding layers are so disposed that the area of a portion where the openings of the plurality of light-shielding layers are overlapped when being observed from the normal line direction of the optical device main surface becomes narrower than the area of a portion where the openings of the plurality of light-shielding layers are overlapped when being observed from at least one direction inclined from the normal line direction of the optical device main surface. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
