IMAGE PROCESSING APPARATUS, AND IMAGE PROCESSING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To resolve a problem that not only an outline of an imaging blur but also an outline of a focus blur at the time of imaging are corrected in a conventional image processing method, which causes an unnatural image.

SOLUTION: An image processing apparatus 100 comprises: motion vector detecting means 1 that detects a motion vector of an input image signal; reference blur width generating means 2 that generates a reference blur width that is used as a reference for determining an imaging blur from the motion vector; blur pixel detecting means 3 that detects a blur pixel from pixels of the input image signal; outline correction characteristics control means 4 that compares a blur width that is the number of pixels of the detected blur pixels with the reference blur width to determine whether or not the blur pixels are the imaging blur, and controls characteristics of outline correction to be performed to the blur pixel based on the determination result; and outline correcting means 5 that performs the outline correction to the blur pixel according to the characteristics of the outline correction.
