OPTICAL FIBER CUTTER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical fiber cutter allowing a round blade member to be efficiently used without applying burden to a worker.

SOLUTION: An optical fiber cutter 1 includes a cutter main body 2, and a slider 12 is supported by the cutter body 2 so as to be slidable in the cross direction. A disc-shaped round blade member 16 for scribing an optical fiber is rotatably attached to the slider 12. A columnar protrusion 20 is erected from the base 5 of the cutter main body 2. An engagement member 21 engaging with a gear 17 which rotates integrally with the round blade member 16 is attached to the upper end of the columnar protrusion 20. An engagement member 22 engaging with the slider 12 is connected to the columnar protrusion 20 through a spring 23. Position holding recesses 24a-24c with which the position of the engagement member 22 is held are formed on the base 5. The rotational angle of the round blade member 16 is switched to three stages in conjunction with the holding position of the engagement member 22.
