<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dedicated power supply of a LED lamp, which reduces operational variation of a semiconductor light emitting element while preventing its arc discharge from continuing. <P>SOLUTION: A lighting apparatus comprises: an apparatus body; a straight pipe type LED lamp 16 with a semiconductor light emitting element 25; and a dedicated power supply 17 for activating the semiconductor light emitting element 25.
