<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact water level measurement device which has high measurement accuracy and quickly responds to change in water level. <P>SOLUTION: A water level measurement device exposes light into a pipe from the bottom part or the top part of a water level detection pipe which is connected at the top part and the bottom part to a vessel whose water level is to be measured and which pipe is made of clear material such as glass with high hydrophilicity. The device reads brightness from the upper end to the lower end of the water level detection pipe with an image sensor installed on the side of the water level detection pipe, and measures water level considering that the water surface is near a location above where the strongest light was sensed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
