<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique that enables navigation information generated based on obtained map information to be displayed at a correct position in a photographed image in a superimposed manner. <P>SOLUTION: The position of a feature portion of a photographed object included in a photographed image by an on-vehicle camera 4 is collated with the position corresponding to a feature portion of a photographed object included in map information obtained according to the position of an own vehicle 1 that is detected by an own vehicle position estimation unit 7. Through the collation, the position of the photographed image on the map information is identified by a traveling environment recognition unit 8, and then the position of the photographed object included in the photographed image on the map information, or which position on the map information is photographed in the photographed image, is precisely identified.
