<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily exfoliate a sheet wound around a transfer member, from the transfer member. <P>SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus 1 of the present invention includes: a photosensitive drum 11 which is rotatably disposed and retains an image on the outer peripheral surface; a transfer drum 21 which is rotatably disposed facing the photosensitive drum 11, has an exposed section 21C formed by notching a part of the outer peripheral surface, and transfers the image retained by the photosensitive drum 11 onto a sheet S clamped between itself and the photosensitive drum 11; a tip end gripper 23 which is provided at the exposed section 21C of the transfer drum 21 and clampingly grips the conveying-directional tip end side of the sheet S to be fed towards the transfer drum 21; and a control section 100 which is adapted to release the sheet S gripped by the tip end gripper 23 when the exposed section 21C of the transfer drum 21 passes through a region facing the photosensitive drum 11. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
