<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cooling fin having heat radiation characteristics superior to those of conventional pin fins. <P>SOLUTION: A cooling fin comprises a porous body 3 having communication pores which is filled between pins 2 or plates arranged to stand on a surface of a fin base 1. Preferably, the porous body is a metal porous body such as an aluminum alloy or a copper alloy. Heat transfer from the fin base 1 to the porous body 3 is mainly done via the pins 2 or plates. Thus, heat radiation characteristics can be improved by enhancing the velocity of cooling air. The cooling fin is used for accelerating the radiation of heat from a heat sink provided on a high-temperature side of a Peltier element or for accelerating the radiation of heat from a central processing unit (CPU) of a computer. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
