The lubricating layer (16.1) is divided into a low load portion (18) and a main load portion (20) in an axial direction. A low load sliding face (22) and a main load sliding face (24) are defined in the low load portion and the main load portion, respectively. The low load sliding face is radially projected inward over the main load sliding face to about 5-30 micrometers. The low load portion includes higher elasticity than the main load portion. A low load sliding element is arranged in the low load portion. An independent claim is also included for a radial bearing comprising a bearing metal layer.
