<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reconfigure a variable dispersion compensator adaptable to optical wavelengths for compensating the wavelength dispersion of an optical signal, regarding a wavelength division multiplexing transmission device and a dispersion compensation control method. <P>SOLUTION: A wavelength division multiplexing transmission device comprises: plural transponder units 1-1 to 1-n for multiplexing and transmitting an optical signal having plural wavelengths, and compensating the wavelength dispersion of an optical signal of each wavelength obtained by reception and separation by a variable dispersion compensator 11 to perform reception processing; and a common unit 2 for each transponder unit. The common unit 2 performs the reconfiguring control of the variable dispersion compensators 11 of the plural transponder units. At this time, a comparison processing unit 21 of the common unit 2 collects error rates detected by error detection units 15 of dispersion compensation control units 14 of the plural transponder units, firstly instructs the dispersion compensation control unit 14 of the transponder unit having the minimum error rate to perform the reconfiguring control of the variable dispersion compensator, and after the reconfiguring control, instructs the dispersion compensation control units 14 of the other transponder units to perform the reconfiguring control of the variable dispersion compensators. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
