<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and apparatus for fast cell selection by a mobile radio apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: A mobile radio apparatus detects that a first radio cell lacks a compatible criterion of a stored set, searches for and specifies a radio cell of a candidate for association. The mobile radio apparatus measures a metric of at least one received signal for each of candidate radio cells in a set of candidate radio cells. When a candidate cell in a set of candidate radio sets is identical to the first radio cell, the mobile radio apparatus uses the set of compatible criteria for the stored first radio cell and the measured metric of the at least one received signal for the candidate radio cel to evaluate compatibility of the candidate radio cell. In the case where the candidate radio cell meets the stored set of compatible criteria, the mobile radio apparatus makes association with the candidate radio cell. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
