<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus using a plurality of the same optical scanners, the apparatus capable of preventing an installation position error when a removed optical scanner is returned to an apparatus body, ensuring a return to the original position. <P>SOLUTION: Optical scanners 4A, 4B are devices having the same configuration. As shown in Fig. (a), if the optical scanner 4B is mounted on the left side of a body, an incompatible movable member 120 rotates counterclockwise. If the optical scanner 4A is mounted on the right side of the body, an incompatible movable member 120 rotates clockwise. As shown in Fig. (b), if the removed optical scanner 4A is attempted to be mounted on the left side, the incompatible movable member 120 covers a hole 153R provided in a stationary portion 150 to prevent insertion of a positioning pin 103, by which an installation position error can be prevented. Likewise, if the removed optical scanner 4B is attempted to be mounted on the right side, the installation position error can be prevented by the incompatible movable member 120. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
