Disclosed is a method for suppressing coloring of a polyvinyl butyral resin after irradiation of light, which comprises a step of kneading a polyvinyl butyral resin and a phenol compound. Also disclosed is use of a phenol compound for the purpose of suppressing coloring of a polyvinyl butyral resin after irradiation of light.
