The device (10) has a covering part (20) whose connection section (26) forms a flap (21a) that partly covers another covering part (40) in an overlapping area. A contour of an outer side (40a) of a connection section (46) of the latter covering part and a contour of inside of the connection section of the former covering part are adapted in the overlapping area in sections. A fastening device (62) accommodates a connecting element to connect the covering parts. Another fastening device and the former fastening device are formed with apertures (28, 48). An independent claim is also included for a method for assembling an aerodynamic outer lining device.
