<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of avoiding deterioration of initial developer filled into a process cartridge connected to a developer replenishment device for a long time and capable of ensuring the supply of developer from the developer replenishment device at the time of the first start. <P>SOLUTION: When a process cartridge 10a is attached to a toner replenishment device 7a, a drive transmission member 201 contacts the underside of the toner replenishment device 7a, and is pushed down to the place where it engages with a spiral screw vane. A conveyance agitation screw 300 rotates the spiral screw vane and conveys the developer along the moving direction of a shutter 205. The drive transmission member 201 moves the shutter 205 to an open position as the conveyance agitation screw 300 rotates. The drive transmission member 201 moves in synchronization with the initial conveyance of initial developer in a developing container 40, thereby retracting the shutter 205 from a developer replenishment port 206 and shifting the toner replenishment device 7a and the developing container 40 to a communicating state. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
