<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for forming an image in which the dispersibility of a pigment is good, and a high image density can be realized even for a smoothness paper and a non-smoothness paper when utilized for an inkjet ink, and to provide an inkjet ink liquid, a set of a pretreatment liquid and an ink for inkjet recording, a cartridge, an inkjet recording device, and an image formation object. <P>SOLUTION: A pigment dispersion for preparing an ink for inkjet recording includes a pigment particle which is finely dispersed in a dispersion medium liquid, wherein the pigment particle is acidic carbon black. In addition, the pigment dispersion for an ink for inkjet recording includes at least one or more kinds of compounds expressed by the following general formula (I), and has a pHs of 9.5-12.
